...Train My Pet
Having a pet can be a wonderful experience. A furry companion in your home can bring joy and companionship. That said, having an untrained pet is far from a perfect situation. Learned behaviors like going to the bathroom outside, not tearing up furniture, or responding to commands can make living with a pet much easier.
Though training can be difficult, it doesn’t have to be. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you train your pet in no time.
- Start with the basics. Teach your pet simple commands such as “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” Start with one command at a time, and try to keep your lessons short. Ten to fifteen minutes is an ideal length.
- Make sure you’re praising your pet when it does something correctly. Positive reinforcement can go a long way towards helping your pet learn quickly and effectively.
- Be patient above all. Dogs and cats, like humans, will learn at their own pace. Don’t get frustrated and be sure to reward good behavior.
Training your pet takes patience and dedication, but it can be done. By following these tips you’ll be able to keep your furry family member from tearing up your home in no time.
