...Set Up My Home Theater System

A home theater system can provide an amazing entertainment experience right at home. Start by deciding what kind of equipment you need. Choose between a receiver and an amplifier. A receiver is an all-in-one unit that contains the amplifier, DVD player, etc. This is a great choice if you are tight on space. An amplifier only amplifies sound, so you will need to purchase separate components to complete your system.

You’ll need speakers, a television, cords, and cables. Place your speakers around the room so the sound will be distributed evenly. The distance between the center speaker and the listening point should be twice the distance between the others for optimal sound. Make sure your cords are long enough to reach from the receiver to the speakers. You should also choose the highest quality cables and cords that your budget allows.

Once you have all your components, connect the cables and cords. You’ll want to run an HDMI cable from the TV to the receiver. Connect the subwoofer to the speaker connections on the receiver. Make sure all the cords and cables are secure and there is no loose wiring.

If you are using an amplifier instead of a receiver, connect the preamplifier output to the amplifier. Then connect the amplifier to the speakers. Make sure to turn up the amplifier and speakers together to avoid overloading the receiver. Lastly, connect the TV to the preamplifier.

Now you’re ready to enjoy the sound of your Home Theater System. Adjust your audio settings until you achieve your desired sound. Be sure to keep user’s manuals handy in case you need to troubleshoot any problems.
